Utilizing biological and regenerative methods is a commitment to a healthier island. In partnership with MycroBio, the Hyatt stands as a beacon for sustainability in the local community. Since we have switched to biological amendments we have seen amazing results.  Our property is able to hold water more efficiently, which is foundational for growing plants and trees. We have experienced a major reduction and pest and disease, we can grow successfully in challenging zones…endless benefits.

At The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, caring for the land is an important part of caring for our island home. Through our partnership with MycroBio, we are implementing regenerative, biology-based landscape practices that support healthier soil, stronger plants, and a more resilient environment. Since introducing these natural soil solutions, we have seen significant improvements throughout the resort grounds. Our soils are now better structured and able to retain moisture more effectively, helping our plants and trees stay hydrated while reducing the need for excessive irrigation. We’ve also observed healthier growth and greater resilience in our landscapes, with fewer pest pressures and plant health issues. These regenerative practices are helping our gardens flourish even in areas that have traditionally been difficult to maintain. By focusing on soil health and living biological systems, The Westin Maui is strengthening its landscapes while supporting a more sustainable future for our island community.
